Evie Peterson began in the food industry back in high school, after training under a chef, then replacing her predecessor. Farmhouse Catering officially took shape in 2005, and took off in 2008. Throughout the last 10 years, she’s worked in her home kitchen, then contracted through the country club, and now owns and operates a large-scale full-time catering company. In 2014, Evie's dream of owning her own venue finally came true! Gatherings is an extension of her home, and everyone who comes to Gatherings is welcomed as family. Evie prides herself on being full of Nevada Pride, as Farmhouse Catering and Gatherings are utilized as community sponsors for many local events. Evie enjoys creating menus that reflect her client's needs and tastes, as well as the challenge of putting together savory main dishes. Evie prides the company on the fact that though Farmhouse Catering has grown leaps and bounds in the past couple years, she is still the executive chef and does the cooking. In order to maintain the quality of the food, Evie holds the responsibility of the kitchen still in her own hands. Farmhouse Catering’s motto of “where fresh and comfort collide” is the promise Evie makes to each of her clients. Evie has dreams of joining the farm-to-table movement which would even further strengthen her business motto.
Evie’s entrepreneurial spirit began at age 15 when she started buying houses to flip. She loves doing home renovations projects, decorating, gardening, and camping. Evie is active in the school arts program through her children. She’s currently a self-proclaimed taxi driver for her four children, who range from high school to preschool. Evie and her husband Seth take great pleasure in serving the community in which they live. The clients she meets and the ability to have a creative outlet drive Evie to continue to improve what she does and motivate her to work harder every day.

Courtney Luke is our self-proclaimed jack of all trades who has found her calling in coordinating all events at Gatherings. After graduating from Nevada High School, she went on to get a degree from Iowa State in Animal Science. Courtney grew up in rural Nevada but now calls Hubbard, Iowa home at the family farm. When she’s not helping Gatherings clients with the up-front details of their event, she enjoys spending time with family and traveling. Though her role started just working with brides, her skills have expanded to encompass all functions at Gatherings, including but not limited to, corporate functions, family events, and of course, Gatherings weddings & receptions.
Bre is a great addition to our team and will be handling the Farmhouse Catering events. She loves being hospitable and serving others. She is so excited to serve this community. Bre was born and raised in Ames and hasn't wandered too far from home. She now lives and works here in Nevada. When she is not coordinating catering events, she is either with her family and friends, traveling the world or staying active with her church.
